A classic husband & wife battle - this wine was created by Fernfield's winemaker (and husband) Scott Barr. While his wife Bec's "HER Grenache" turned out fruity, fresh and more of a minimal-intervention style, Scott's "HIS Grenache" was on skins for 35 days & had 18 months in American Oak.
Dark for a Grenache, ever-so-slightly cloudy.
Vanilla and sweet spices.
A bold and complex wine, with the depth and character that only careful and purposeful oak introduction can produce. Elegant, with notes of berries and ripened red fruits, underpinned with soft tobacco and spice notes. Delicate tannin and a lengthy finish.
