A dry and refreshing styled rose showing aromatics of strawberries, raspberries and subtle white florals. A bright and crisp acidity with flavours of pink lady apple, citrus and a hint of watermelon on the palate supported by a crunchy texture and lingering savoury finish. Very fresh and easy to drink with a lot of light summery red fruit tones on the palate.
This dry rose is made from 50-year-old bush vine Grenache from the Willunga 100 estate vineyard in Blewitt Springs. The fruit was hand-harvested and gently pressed. Alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless steel. The wine spent 4 months on lees and chilled post fermentation with regular lees stirring to build texture and mouthfeel.
This wine tastes of sunshine, and is one to evoke the memories of the beach days; sea, sunscreen and the rollicking good times of the Aussie summer.
Colour: Very clear, almost like pale white wine.
Aroma: Fresh aromatics of ripe citrus, floral rose aromatics, red berries and hints of stone fruits.
Palate: The palate has flavours of blood orange, pomegranate, red currants and background guava with a backbone of fine acidity, some minerality and a lingering finish.
Food Pairing: Salt and pepper calamari with garlic aioli and a squeeze of lemon or steamed fish with ginger.
