Montepulciano Rose is intense and compact on the palate, dry and refreshing with a savoury aftertaste that is appetising and food-friendly.
The montepulciano is an Italian grape variety, which when grown in Eden Valley creates a fruit driven lively palette of cherries and cranberries which gives away to a spicy aromatic finish.
Montepulciano is not the usual grape used in rose, however halfway through the process of juicing the grapes to make a red wine, the decision was made to pull this around and turn it into a crisp, elegant and complex rose!
Colour: Pale salmon pink
Aroma: Rose petals, berries and plums.
Palate: Fruity, but also with a small edge of savoury-earthiness
Food Pairing: Pair with chicken or pork.
