From the excellent Wrattonbully region in South Australia, this is the quintessential Bordeaux Bland with this mix of grapes. Another fine Limited Release, it spent time in French oak. Deep red in colour, we have chocolate, liquorice, black olives, cloves and black fruits. There are also dusty tannins on a long, concentrated finish. Real power here, though the balance makes it rather deceptive. Muscular in style with good length, which reflects the blend and the vintage well.
An enticing nose of black and red fruits with a spicy lift. The rich and soft palate is rounded with sweet berry fruits and savoury spice and well balanced by subtle oak. Fine tannins provide support for a long silky finish.
