Long before the sun rose and filled the city streets with light, the voices of the hardworking market merchants rang throughout the East End as they spruiked their fresh produce to traders searching for the day’s best deals.
Grown in the cool climate of the Adelaide Hills this Pinot Gris is harvested with a lovely natural acidity. This is the backbone which carries the voluptuous palate of this wine and results in a complete and delicious Pinot Gris.
This wine delivers a floral nose of jasmine, honeysuckle and apple blossom. The palate is layered with white stone fruits and pear and a hint of almond meal finishing with a lemon pith texture. The palate has creaminess through the centre and finishes with the crisp zing of the delicious acid.
First impressions here are ruled by the wine’s distinctive faint bronzed colour, a result of Pinot Gris grapes’ skin tone on the vine. Varietal aromatics also are true to type and style, fresh cut green pear and a delicate floral spice lift. All of this pours into a juicy palate, crisp and refreshing with ample pink lady apple flavour and fulfilling texture. Quite delicious summer drinking.
Colour: Bright pale straw colour with a watery hue.
Aroma: Lifted aromas of lime and quince.
Palate: Delicious citrus and spice almond characters on the palate. It has a textural mouthfeel and a beautifully crisp and lingering finish.
Food Pairing: Works well with Thai green curries and mild to medium-hot Indian curries.
